This type of shot provides maximum information.
However my approach to architectural photography often involves isolating significant details.
For this shot I felt that a vertical format was best

Lamartine’s House in Plovdiv.
Description:
Plovdiv – once known as Philippopolis – is one of Bulgaria’s most ancient cities and the old part is extremely picturesque.
This house once belonged to Georgi Mavridi a prominent merchant and was built around 1830.
The French writer Lamartine stayed in this house and wrote about Bulgaria in his travel novel “Journey to the East”

Plovdiv old town is full of narrow winding streets and the only way to photograph the buildings is to concentrate on details or to use a wide angle lens to include the whole building.
In this photo the old cobble stones provide foreground interest.
