It’s an old adage in photography that the best light is early in the morning and later in the day.
Wherever I go, I make it my business to be out and about before the sun rises.
For this picture I used my Bronica and a slick tripod.
I was looking for the sunrise and it was an extra bonus that a couple swimming in the early morning added a romantic touch.

It’s famous for its cobbled streets, artistic ambience and traditional buildings.
The Apollonia art and film festival takes place in early September.

One of the greatest lessons I have learnt as a photographer is that not all photographs are best taken at the height of my eyes when I’m standing.
I chose a low viewpoint to emphasise the shape of the boat and to clear the background.
I used a Bronica 6×6 film camera which gave me plenty of leeway when it came to cropping.
